چکیده

D iabetic Foot & Ankle was launched in 2010. My inspiration to start the journal was to bring together multidisciplinary groups and health care providers around the world to share their expertise in the prevention and management of diabetic foot and ankle complications. A number of excellent articles have since then been published, which has led to the inclusion of the journal in PubMed Central/PubMed in record time. Our next goal is to be indexed in MEDLINE and eventually to receive an impact factor. This significant achievement has been accomplished through excellent team work between editorial board members, peer reviewers, our publishing partner and Á not least Á our authors. The journal has received positive feedback internationally and readership has already spread across 143 countries and territories. Diabetic Foot & Ankle welcomes papers in all areas pertaining to diabetic foot and ankle complications, such as surgery, wound healing, vascular disease as well as medical management and research in patients with diabetes mellitus. All articles are subjected to double blind peer review and, if accepted, are published online as soon as the final proof has been accepted by the author, usually just 3Á4 weeks after acceptance. In the field of diabetic foot & ankle research, images and other media provide important means of communicating results and information. We welcome authors to submit supplementary files such as high resolution images, videos (e.g. of surgical techniques), and data, to mention only a few. These files will be published together with the original article. In addition to the journal's exposure at related conferences and meetings around the world, the diabetic foot and ankle community is welcome to join us on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter (@DiabeticFootAnk) Links to all articles posted to these forums. Let us join efforts and develop Diabetic Foot & Ankle into the foremost forum for exchange of research results in this increasingly important field. We are well underway and I hope you will participate by submitting your best papers to the journal.
